HARMONY GROVE QUILTING CO.

RATES
Hand-Guided Quilting
Current rate for hand-guided custom quilting is $.03/sq. inch. This includes allover designs, as well as custom quilting (different motifs for different areas of the quilt top)

Thread cost is included in the square-inch price of the quilting.
My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum plus the cost of batting (see below).

All extra backing and batting will be returned to the client unless otherwise arranged.
Batting
I use and stock my favorite Quilter's Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend (in white), and 100% cotton (in natural). You may request wool, bamboo, 100%poly, or green (made from recycled plastic bottles) but it may affect turnaround time due to shipping.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls (92" wide) of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 6" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 66" of the batting of your choice.
66" of 100% cotton (natural) @ $0.45/in = $29.70
66" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend (white) @ $0.50/in = $33.00
BINDING
Want to get your quilt back ready to use?
It's totally worth it! Skip the binding step, and leave it to me! When you drop off your quilt, you can also drop off your binding fabric. I will make the strips, attach it to your quilt, fold it over and attach it to the final side of the quilt. Wonderful mitered corners, no fussing with joining the binding tails...leave it all up to me! My rate is $7 per binding strip needed. Any extra fabric will be returned to you with your ready-to-use quilt!
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in California, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of California to collect a 7.25% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice. Batting and shipping are not subject to sales tax if outside the state of California.
